Use of social media is associated with a number of detrimental impacts, such as stress, anxiety, and depression. Research have also shown a connection between extensive usage of digital technology and weakened immune systems. The existence of a causal connection between social media use and poor health and wellbeing is uncertain, despite correlational evidence to the contrary. In the current study, 50 students between the ages of 20 and 25 were examined to see what effects cutting back on social media use had on their physical and mental health. The students filled out questionnaires about their health, immune system, loneliness, sleep, anxiety, and depression at the start of the study. After that, they were divided into groups at random to use their smartphones as usual or for 15 minutes less each day.
