How tiny can robots get, and can they help with needs of the human body? This is what a group of scientists from the University of Tel-Aviv seek to learn more about as they investigate the creation of a cell-sized micro-robot that can recognize and seize other cells while being guided and controlled by electric and magnetic systems. They found that this new micro-robot is capable of carrying out a wide range of duties, including as moving between the cells in a biological sample, evaluating whether the cell is healthy or dying, and even capturing and injecting a medicine or genetic material into the captured cell.
