Dr. Scott Parazynski, a retired NASA astronaut and physician, recently had the pleasure of chatting with Labroots about his enthusiasm for and opinions on this historic mission and its potential for the advancement of space travel. Dr. Parazynski is a highly decorated NASA astronaut who served on five Space Shuttle missions (STS-66, STS-86, STS-95, STS-100, and STS-120), logging more than 57 days in space and more than 47 hours of extravehicular activity (EVA). He was chosen for these missions in 1992.Dr. Parazynski told Labroots, “I’m ‘over the moon’ excited that we’re going back to the moon, and the crew they’ve selected is surely up to the challenge. “They’re all tremendous professionals, wonderful both individually and as a team. After my departure from NASA in 2009, all four of them joined the agency.
