Researchers from the University College London and Osaka University have created a novel remotely controlled robotic system that can help people, especially in hostile circumstances. By using remotely controlled robots to carry out emergency activities since it was too unsafe for people to enter the area, recovery efforts from the 2013 Fukushima nuclear power plant were built upon.“The research interest in remote control has been further signified in the past 2 years as the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic restricted people’s movement,” said Dr. Weiwei Wan, who is an associate professor in the Graduate School of Engineering at Osaka University.
