What effects can drought have in the future due to climate change on the Amazon rainforest? In a recent study published in Nature, a group of over 80 scientists from South America and Europe looked at how future dry conditions in the Amazon rainforest would cause trees to die. They hoped to learn more about this.For the study, the researchers looked at both previous estimates of the impact of drought on the Amazon as well as future effects of climate change on the Amazon, most notably drier conditions due to increased temperatures.
