In a recent study published in Astronomy & Astrophysics, a group of scientists examined a binary star system (two stars orbiting each other) in the Small Magellanic Cloud, a close-by dwarf galaxy that is located about 210,000 light-years from Earth and that the scientists predict will both eventually turn into black holes.
