A group of researchers from Iowa State University discovered that even slight decreases in daily social media usage could have a major positive impact on a person’s mental health and general emotional wellness, according to a recent study that was published in the journal Technology Mind and Behavior.The study’s findings come at a time when there are many worries about how social media use may influence users’ health and wellness. According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Surgeon General, children and teens who use social media over three hours a day are twice as likely to experience problems like anxiety and depression. That’s not mention the numerous affects social media has on other areas of a person’s health.
